Back to Our Roots: Pulse Defibs at High Life Strata Expo 2026

It was fantastic to get back to our roots at High Life Expo 2026, reconnecting with the strata community and the industry where Pulse Defibs first began.

Strata: Where It All Began

Pulse Defibs began its journey with a simple mission: to make life-saving defibrillators more accessible in residential strata buildings across Australia.

Why strata? Every year, 32,000 Australians suffer a sudden cardiac arrest (88 people every day) and 80% of these occur at home. Strata communities offer a unique and cost-effective solution where a single device can protect multiple homes at a shared, minimal cost to owners. Providing residents with access to lifesaving equipment where they need it most.

Since our beginnings, we’ve expanded into a range of industries, but strata remains at the heart of what we do. We believe residential communities offer some of the greatest opportunities to make a meaningful difference and potentially save lives.

And the good news? It’s not as complicated as you might think.

Creating Safer Strata Communities

One of the biggest challenges we see isn't necessarily a lack of interest in defibrillators. Often, it's simply uncertainty about where to start.

Where should the defibrillator go? Who looks after it? Do residents need training?

These are all reasonable questions, and fortunately, the process is much simpler than many people expect.

At Pulse Defibs, we take care of everything, from advice and guidance through to professional installation, resident demonstrations and ongoing maintenance.

Every installation includes a complimentary on-site demonstration for residents, allowing them to ask questions and feel more confident responding to a cardiac emergency involving a neighbour, family member or visitor.

Our ongoing maintenance programs ensure defibrillators remain rescue-ready, with periodic inspections, replacement of expired consumables and maintenance records to help meet ongoing compliance obligations.

To assist our strata clients, we've put together a complete "Guide to Defibs in Strata" that covers:

  • Defibrillator models & recommendations

  • Exclusive strata pricing,

  • Frequently asked questions,

  • Meeting notice & voting form,

  • Optional special By-law; purchase, installation, maintenance, and use

  • Servicing & maintenance information

High Life Expo 2026 – Celebrating Better Apartment Living

Held on Saturday, 3 October at Melbourne Town Hall, the 2026 High Life Expo brought together apartment residents, owners corporation committees, strata managers and industry professionals for a day dedicated to improving apartment living.

Organised by High Life Living, the event featured approximately 60 exhibitors showcasing innovative products, services and solutions designed to make apartment buildings safer, smarter, more sustainable and better places to live.

The expo covered a diverse range of industries, including building maintenance, renewable energy, electric vehicle charging, sustainability, financial services, technology, safety and strata management.

Alongside the exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to attend expert-led seminars exploring some of the key challenges and opportunities facing apartment communities.

Bridging the Gap Between Strata Owners and Suppliers

One of the most valuable aspects of High Life Expo was its ability to bridge a gap that often exists between apartment owners and the businesses that service their buildings.

In strata communities, decisions about building improvements, maintenance and new services can involve multiple parties, from residents and committees to strata managers and contractors. As a result, owners aren't always aware of the products, services and innovations available to their buildings, while suppliers rarely have the opportunity to engage directly with the people who ultimately benefit from their work.

High Life Expo helped break down these barriers by bringing everyone together under one roof.

Residents and committee members could speak directly with suppliers, ask questions, compare solutions and gain a better understanding of what might be possible for their buildings. Equally, suppliers had the opportunity to hear firsthand about the challenges, priorities and concerns of apartment communities.

It's this two-way exchange of knowledge that makes events like High Life Expo so valuable. Beyond showcasing products and services, the event encouraged meaningful conversations, better-informed decisions and stronger connections between the people who live in apartment buildings and those who help maintain and improve them.

More than just a trade exhibition, High Life Expo provided a valuable platform for sharing ideas, building relationships and encouraging conversations about the future of apartment living.

We'd like to recognise our fellow exhibitors and encourage readers to explore the products, services and initiatives they offer.

For more information about participating organisations, visit the official High Life Expo 2026 Supplier Showcase.

Thank you again to High Life Living, the organisers, fellow exhibitors and everyone who helped make the event such a success.
