Why is defibrillator maintenance important?

AED-Inspection-SQUARE.webp

Picture this, you’ve installed defibrillators and ticked that box.

Now imagine a staff member or visitor suffers a cardiac arrest - and the AED on the wall doesn’t function.

Perhaps it's flat batteries, expired pads or an internal issue. These are real situations - and the consequences are catastrophic, both for the people involved and from a liability perspective.

The reality is that defibrillators are life-saving medical devices and, like any

critical equipment, they require maintenance to ensure they will perform when needed. An AED that has not been properly maintained can put lives at risk and expose your organisation to unnecessary safety and compliance concerns.

Don’t wait for an emergency - have your defibrillator inspected and maintained yearly through our annual maintenance program.

Our Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Program

Owning a defibrillator comes with an ongoing responsibility to ensure it is properly maintained and ready for use.

Our annual maintenance program takes care of that for you. Providing peace of mind,  that your device will perform as expected in a critical situation and helping your organisation meet its compliance obligations.

Our program is particularly well suited to organisations managing multiple defibrillators across different locations, providing a scalable maintenance solution that keeps every device rescue-ready while delivering consistent standards, reporting, and compliance across an entire network.

What's invovled?

Every twelve months, devices are inspected to verify performance, overall functionality, and readiness for use. This includes testing for faults, software updates, and an assessment of all critical components.

Electrode pad and battery expiry dates are verified to confirm the device is rescue-ready. The condition of the storage cabinet, signage, and associated accessories, such as rescue prep kits, is also inspected to ensure the entire installation remains compliant, accessible, and ready for an emergency.

Following the inspection, the defibrillator is tagged outcome and next scheduled maintenance date.

A detailed compliance report is generated and securely stored, providing a complete maintenance record for your organisation.
