Our servicing program keeps your AED functional, compliant and ready to save lives.

Owning a defibrillator comes with the responsibility of keeping it properly maintained and ready for use.

At Pulse Defibs, we provide comprehensive servicing programs using biomedical testing equipment to verify that your defibrillator accurately analyses simulated heart rhythms and delivers the correct shock output (joules) - a process we call a “shock test.”

Why is defibrillator servicing important?

Picture this, you’ve installed defibrillators and ticked that box.

Now imagine a staff member or visitor suffers a cardiac arrest - and the AED on the wall doesn’t function.

Perhaps it's flat batteries, expired pads or an internal issue. These are real situations - and the consequences are catastrophic, both for the people involved and from a liability perspective.

The reality is that defibrillators can fail, especially if they aren’t regularly serviced. A non-functional AED not only puts lives at risk but can also expose your organisation to safety compliance issues and liability issues.

Don’t wait for an emergency - have your defibrillator tested and tagged yearly through our annual servicing program.

Our Comprehensive Annual Servicing Program

Why do you need AED Compliance Testing?

Proper servicing of defibrillators is essential to ensure functionality, reliability, and compliance with legal requirements. Just like other safety equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms, exit lighting) defibrillators should be tested and tagged.

We recommend all AEDs are shock tested once annually, to ensure the AED is delivering the correct energy output.

Our annual servicing program takes care of that for you. Providing peace of mind,  that your device will perform as expected in a critical situation and remain fully compliant with legal requirements.

How does it work?

Using biomedical testing equipment, simulated heart rhythms are run through the defibrillator to confirm it is correctly analysing cardiac rhythms and advising a shock when required. We then measure the shock output to ensure the device is delivering within the correct range (typically 180–210 joules depending on the make and model).

The device is also checked for faults and software updates. Electrode pad and battery expiries are verified, and battery voltage is tested to determine remaining capacity and confirm readiness for the next service period.

The defibrillator is tagged displaying the last and next service dates and service results.

A compliance report is also generated and securely stored on file, available upon client request.

Can you offer servicing on existing AEDs, or just the ones you install?

Yes. Servicing can be provided for existing AEDs, even if the defibrillator was not purchased through us.

Most major brands can be serviced, including ZOLL, Mindray, HeartSine, Lifepak, Philips, and Defibtech.

How much does the Annual Servicing Program cost, and is there a discount for multiple defibrillators?

Servicing is very affordable, especially considering the risk of a non-functioning AED.

Single AEDs are serviced for under $200, with additional defibrillators charged at a lower rate.

What industries do you service?

Servicing is available for all industries across Australia.

This includes strata, hotels and hospitality, building and construction, holiday parks and resorts, commercial property and facilities, student accommodation, aged care and retirement living, schools and education, gyms and fitness centres, sporting clubs and recreation facilities, and warehouses.

What happens if an AED does not pass testing and is deemed inoperable?

This really depends on why the defibrillator did not pass. For simple issues like expired pads or batteries, these can be replaced on the spot. For more extensive problems, guidance is provided on the best course of action, which may include arranging a replacement, temporary device, or repair.

Full support is provided throughout the process.

Our defibrillator has never been serviced, and we’re unsure when the pads and batteries are due—can you help?

Yes. It’s not uncommon for new clients to have AEDs that have been neglected.

We will get the device back on track and ensure it remains fully maintained moving forward.

Do all AED's purchased through Pulse Defibs come with Annual Servicing?

Annual servicing is offered every Defibrillator and over 90% of customers chose to enrol in their AED in program to ensure it remains fully operational.
